I am a former neurologist who left medicine due to bipolar disorder.  My short stories have been published in Wyldblood, The Timberline Review, and Flash Fiction Magazine, among others. I am a member of 9 Bridges Writers, Willamette Writers, and the Pacific Northwest Writers Association. My self-published Writer’s Guide to Medicine series, which teaches writers how to accurately depict medical topics, is comprised of three volumes: Character and Setting, Illness and Injury, and Mental Illness. I grew up on an alpaca farm and recently patented a novel mushroom-growing technology that was recognized as a finalist in NASA’s Deep Space Food Challenge. In my spare time, I enjoy board games and RPGs, baking, spoiling my geriatric cat, and taking rambling nature walks with my 2-year-old daughter.
